U4N Examines Path of Exile 2 Perforate, Cyclone, and Blade Conduit
The Duelist's upcoming Skill lineup gives Path of Exile 2 a new combat style built around stance management and carefully connected attacks. As players prepare for the class, Path of Exile 2 Currency may become an important resource for obtaining equipment suited to different Duelist concepts. Skills such as Perforate, Blade Conduit, and Cyclone show that the class is not simply about dealing melee damage but about controlling how each attack develops.
Perforate Has Multiple Outcomes
Perforate initially appears to be a straightforward multi-hit Sword Skill. It strikes several times before delivering a larger final attack.
However, the Skill becomes much more interesting when stances enter the equation.
While in Ready Stance, the Duelist can bypass the initial smaller strikes and progress directly to the final hit. This gives the player access to a faster burst option and avoids spending time on the earlier stages of the attack.
Blood Stance and Sand Stance change Perforate in different ways. Blood Stance can produce a Blood Nova, while Sand Stance adds extra Sand Disks.
The same Skill can therefore behave differently depending on the stance chosen.
Why Stances Matter
The Duelist's stance system appears to be one of its defining mechanics.
Instead of simply providing temporary statistical bonuses, stances can modify the behavior of Skills. That means choosing a stance becomes a combat decision rather than a background character setting.
A player might select Ready Stance for an immediate finishing attack. Blood Stance could be preferred when maximizing damage interactions, while Sand Stance may be attractive for additional area effects.
This creates a more dynamic combat loop where players have to think about what they want their next Skill to accomplish.
Blade Conduit Creates New Connections
Blade Conduit takes the Duelist beyond conventional Sword attacks.
The Skill summons a lightning strike around the player, Shocking nearby enemies. At the same time, it can charge Buried Blades.
The ability therefore has both immediate and preparatory functions.
Its area damage and Shock effect provide value during an encounter, while charging Buried Blades gives it a role in a larger Skill sequence. This could encourage players to build combinations around preparation and follow-up attacks.
The mechanic also suggests that Duelist combat may involve more than simply rotating the strongest available Sword Skills.
Cyclone Changes With Blood Stance
Cyclone has been shown with two different visual versions, including a red variant and a yellow variant.
The red version represents Blood Stance and deals more damage.
This is a useful example of the stance system because the difference is immediately understandable. Switching into Blood Stance can turn the same basic Skill into a stronger damage option.
For players building around Cyclone, understanding when to enter the appropriate stance could therefore become an important part of maximizing output.
Different Skills, Different Roles
Taken together, the previews show that the Duelist is being designed around variety.
Perforate provides multi-hit attacks and stance-specific effects. Blade Conduit adds lightning damage, Shock, and interaction with Buried Blades. Cyclone demonstrates how stance selection can directly modify damage.
Each Skill contributes something different, but the larger strength comes from combining them.
Players may eventually discover that a Skill is valuable not because it is the strongest attack by itself, but because it creates the right condition for the next part of a sequence.
Ascendancy Teasers Add Another Layer
The upcoming Duelist Ascendancies remain largely unknown. Only teaser imagery for two of them has been revealed so far.
That leaves open questions about how the advanced class choices will influence these mechanics.
An Ascendancy could potentially emphasize a particular stance, improve Sword Skills, or introduce a new interaction that changes how the base class is played.
Until those details are revealed, the existing Skill previews provide the best look at the class's fundamental direction.
Getting Ready to Experiment
The Duelist appears to reward players who enjoy testing combinations and adjusting their approach. Understanding the interaction between Ready, Blood, and Sand Stances could be just as important as selecting individual Skills.
Players preparing equipment for multiple builds may want to consider POE2 Currency for sale as part of their planning process.
Having access to suitable equipment can make it easier to test whether a stance-focused, burst-oriented, or area-damage Duelist performs best for a particular playstyle. The class's flexibility should give players plenty of opportunities to experiment once it becomes available.
